ANNING FAMILY TREE

The Annings are not on my direct line, but they seem to associated with the Splatt family through marriages, at Kenton. This has been compiled using the IGI and 1851 census for Devon.

RICHARD ANNING

Richard married Elizabeth Splatt at Kenton on 16th July 1787. I believe that they had 11 children. Charlotte baptised 13th February 1788, Richard was baptised 11th November 1789, Elizabeth was baptised 16th September 1791, she married her cousin Richard Splatt. Mary was baptised 1st January 1794, William was baptised 27th January 1796, John Splatt was baptised 30th October 1799, James was baptised 22nd November 1801, Thomas was baptised 26th October 1803, Henry was baptised 12th April 1805. Then there is Charles Comins Stone Anning baptised 20th January 1808, I'm not sure where his names came from. Then another William baptised 19th November 1809.

JOHN SPLATT ANNING 1799 -

John was the fifth child of Richard Anning and Elizabeth Splatt, he was born at Kenton and baptised 30th October 1799. John seems to have dropped his middle name of Splatt when he married Martha Paul on 26th July 1820. They had 8 children, Elizabeth Jane baptised 10th December 1820, John Paul baptised 3rd November 1822, Charlotte baptised 1st December 1824, Richard baptised 14th January 1827, William baptised 17th June 1829, Martha Jane baptised 1st July 1832. Ellen born about 1834 and Henry born about 1837.

In 1851 John is Farming 160 acres at Withycombe, both he and Martha are aged 52, William there son is 21, Ellen is 17 and was born at Withycombe, Henry is 14 and was also born at Withycombe.
