BAKER FAMILY NO. 2

ROBERT BAKER 1813 -

Robert Baker was born 11th August 1813 at Creech St Michael, Somerset. He married Charlotte Perry in 1839. Charlotte was born in 1817 at West Monkton, Somerset. They had 8 children, their first was Alfred George who was born at Creech St Michael on 16th August 1840 followed by Sarah born on 1st May 1842. Then Emma born 12th June 1844, William born 7th March 1847 at Bristol, then Robert John born 21st July 1850 at Creech St Michael. Hannah was born 30th October 1853.

The family went to Australia, they sailed on a ship named the "Tartar" on 2nd April 1857, the voyage took 116 days during which Charlotte gave birth to a daughter they named Charlotte. At the end of the voyage, Sarah's luggage got mixed up with another passengers, who had the same initials. His name was Silas Baker, they married the following year.

The family settled in Scottscreek, Murrurundi NSW where one more child was born Ellen Eliza on 23rd July 1866.

Charlotte died 9th September 1891 at Murrurundi, Robert died 6th September 1894.
