JOHN BUCKINGHAM

John Buckingham may be the father of Elizabeth Buckingham (see below). He married Mary, possibly Mary Shepherd who married John in Shillingford on 25th October 1760. They moved to West Hanney where their children were baptised. Martha baptised 29th April 1764, Elizabeth baptised 2nd November 1768, Sarah baptised 25th June 1769, Sarah baptised 1st July 1770, William baptised 2nd May 1773.

ELIZABETH BUCKINGHAM 1769 - 1847

Elizabeth was born about 1769, I think her parents were Jonathan Buckingham & Mary Shepherd. Certainly she married Jonathan Woodley from Haswell at Chilton on 28th April 1793. The story could end here, but I hope that this Elizabeth and Jonathan are the parents of my ancester Lydia Woodley. Assuming that they are, they settled in Long Wittenham where they raised their large family of 10 children, although Elizabeth gave birth to 12, the last 2 did not survive infancy.

Elizabeth died age 78 and was buried 10th July 1847 at Long Wittenham.
