JOHN BUTLER

I do not know where John was born or who his parents were. He married Ann and they settled in West Hanney and I have found 3 children in the parish register. Mary baptised 1st March 1747 and I think she married Samuel Hookey on 23rd October 1784. Thomas was baptised 21st April 1751, and Abraham baptised 18th February 1753.

ABRAHAM BUTLER 1753 -

Abraham was the 3rd child of John & Ann Butler, he was baptised at West Hanney on 18th February 1753. He married Lydia Loder daughter of Francis Loder at West Hanney on 17th October 1780, both signed with their mark. They had 6 children. Lydia was baptised on 12th January 1782, Jacob was baptised 8th January, Elizabeth was baptised 16th November 1788, Isaac was baptised 7th July 1791, Sarah was baptised 28th September 1794 and Ann was baptised 29th October 1797.

ANN BUTLER 1797 - 1868

Ann was the 6th and youngest child of Abraham Butler and Lydia Loder, she was baptised on 29th October 1797 at West Hanney church. When Ann was 24 years old she married William Huggins at Milton church on 11th June 1821. Neither could write their names, but William's brother who was a witness signed his name. They settled in Milton and raised their family of 8 children. Their first child Isaac was born the following year, he was baptised 14th August 1822, followed the next year by Elizabeth baptised 20th March 1823, Amy was baptised 11th June 1826, Sarah was baptised 20th September 1828, Rachel was baptised 15th August 1830, John was baptised 16th September 1832, George was baptised 26th March 1836, and James was baptised 29th March 1839. Ann died age 71 and was buried on 6th March 1868 at Milton.
