DREWETT FAMILY TREE

  Complied from information from Stuart Eagles, Denis & Joan Hamilton and 1881 census.

JOHN DREWETT 1801 -

John was born about 1801 at Hannington, Hampshire. He married Mary Pointer 29th December 1821 at Whitchurch, Hampshire. They had nine children. George born at Kingsclere about 1822. Charles born 1st August 1824. Lucy Anne born 16 October 1825. Elizabeth born 20th April 1828. Henry born  about 1831, he married Sarah. Sophia born 26th May 1833, who sadly died young. Ann born 15th March 1835. Emily born 19th November 1837.  Eli born 3rd May 1839 and Caroline born 24th December 1843, but she sadly died aged 4 months on 28th April 1844.

GEORGE DREWETT 1822-1886

George was the son of John Drewett and Mary Pointer, he was born at Hannington about 1822. He married Hannah Maskell daughter of James Maskell at Kingsclere on 3rd May 1847. They had one son James born 14th November 1847, he married Betsey Pearce.  George's wife Hannah died 13th October 1848.

Five years later George married Esther Lewington daughter of William Lewington at Kingsclere on 26th November 1853, witnessed by Thomas Laurence and Hannah Lovett. George had another seven children with Esther, all born at Kingsclere. Emily was born about 1854, Jane born 5th January 1856, John born 21st February 1858, Thomas 8th January 1861, Charles born 3rd June 1863, Henry born 2nd November 1866 and Joseph born 26th January 1870.  George died at Kingsclere 4th January 1886.

The 1881 census shows the family living at Polhampton Lodge Cottages, Kingsclere. George Drewitt, head, aged 59, Labourer, born at Kingsclere, Esther, his wife, aged 56, born at Kingsclere, Charles, son, aged 17, Labourer, born at Overton, Henry, son, aged 15, Shepherd, born at Overton, Joseph, son, aged 10, Scholar, born at Overton, Arthur, grandson, aged 8, Scholar, born at Overton, Frederick, grandson, aged 6, Scholar, born at Overton.
