dated 7th March 1952
THIS IS THE LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT of me ERNEST ELI CHEDZOY of Llamblethian in the County of Glamorgan, Farm Labourer. I DIRECT my executors to erect over my grave a dark granite Memorial stone with suitable inscription. I GIVE and BEQUEATH my household furniture and effects, money in the Bank or elsewhere and all the rest and residue of my personal Estate of whatsoever nature and wheresoever situate except my Gun hereinafter mentioned, subject to the payment of my just debts funeral and testamentary expences, and the cost of the said Memorial stone, to my wife Elizabeth Ann Chedzoy absolutely. I GIVE and BEQUEATH my long gun to my son Edgar absolutely and request that it be kept in the family in memory of his grandfather Emmanuel Chedzoy. I GIVE and DEVISE my freehold yard and shed at Llanblethian to my said son Edgar Chedzoy absolutely. I GIVE DEVISE and DEQUEATH my freehold dwelling house and garden now in my occupation and the whole of rest and residue of my real Estate, if any, to my Trustees hereinafter named UPON TRUST to permit my said wife Elizabeth Ann Chedzoy to occupy same or to receive the rents and profits thereof during her life and after ther decease I DIRECT my Trustees to sell the same and to pay my Wifes Funeral expenses out of the proceeds, and I GIVE and BEQUEATH the remainder of such proceeds of sale, after paying the expenses of sale, as follows:-
Three fourths of such net proceeds of sale equally between my two daughters Sarah Jeanetta Chedzoy and Alice Elizabeth Mordecai and the remaining one fourth equally between my two sons Edgar Chedzoy and Ernest Charles Chedzoy, and I declare that if either of my said four children shall die in my or my Wifes lifetime leaving issue living at the time of distribution such issue shall take, equally if more than one, the share wich his or their parent would, if living, be entitled to recieve, but if one or more shall have died in my or my wife's lifetime without leaving issue living at the time of distribution the share or shares of the one or more so dying shall be paid unto and equally between my surviving children oor if only one the whole to such one. If any child or children entitled under this my will shall be under the age of twenty one years when becoming entitled I enpower my Trustees to pay the share of such one or more to or for his her or their benefit education or advancement in life notwithstandding infancy, in such manner as the Trustees hereof oor the survivor may decide.
I REVOKE all former Wills made by me and herreby appoint my Son Edgar Chedzoy and my son in law David Mordecai executors hereof and also Trustees for the purposes of the Settled Land Act 1925 or otherwise. AS WITNESS my hand this seventh day of March, One thousand and thirty.
