ELIJAH WAY

ELIJAH WAY 1813 -

Elijah was the youngest child of George Way and Mary Hembery, he was baptised at Huntspill on 26th September 1813. Elijah married Mary Day, but I don't know where or when. They had 6 children that I have found as follows. Lucy baptised 25th November 1838. Jane baptised 16th January 1840. Emma baptised 30th January 1842. Ellen baptised 6th August 1843. Mary Ann baptised 23rd July 1848 and Elijah born about 1849.

I found the family on the 1851 census for Huntspill. Elijah Way, head, aged 38, Haulier. Mary, wife, aged 36, Laundress. Lucy, daughter, aged 12. Jane, daughter, aged 11, scholar. Emma, daughter, aged 9, scholar. Ellen, daughter, aged 8, scholar. Mary Ann, daughter, aged 4. Elijah, son, aged 2. Ann Day, mother in law, widow, aged 75, pauper, labourer's wife, born at North Petherton.
