FLORENCE ANNIE CHEDZOY

FLORENCE ANNIE CHEDZOY 1890 -

Florence Annie was the 2nd child of Albert Chedzoy and Sarah Dorcus Barrington, she was baptised at Stoke St Gregory on 20th September 1890. Being the eldest girl, she was expected to do the work around the house, she did all the Cooking for the family and looked after the Dairy. Florence would have been a great help to her mother when Doris came to live with them, as her mother Mary Louisa was too frail. Florence's mother Sarah Dorcus died from cancer in 1937. Florence never married, but had the chance of raising a child when Michael, came to stay for two weeks, as a baby, so that his mother Vera could sort out the house after her marriage to Raymond. Michael stayed at Lane End House in Florences care till he grew up. Florence remained at Lane End living with her father who died in 1940, and 3 brothers, Ernest, Henry and Herbert, neice Doris and Michael. see Life in Stoke St Gregory. Later she moved to sheltered housing, with all the comforts of a modern house.
