GEORGE CHEDGZOY

GEORGE CHEDGZOY 1844 -

George was the youngest son of John Chedzoy and Ann Chedgzoy, he was baptised at Stoke St Gregory on 13th October 1844.  George became a Basket Maker, in 1881 he was 26 years old and Boarding at the Basket Makers Arms, 10 Whitehall Terrace, Bristol. The landlord was Emma Chappell, her son John aged 22 was a Basket Maker too. Also Boarding was 21 year old Lucy Hill who worked as a Stay Maker. There was also a General Servant 17 year old Kate Ricketts. George married Lucy Hill.

The 1901 census shows them living at 2 Shaftsbury Avenue, Bristol. George now aged 56 still a Basket Maker, Lucy his wife aged 41, daughter Lily M. aged 13, working as a Sweet Confection Assistant.
