GEORGE SAMUEL CHEDZOY

GEORGE SAMUEL CHEDZOY 1872 -

George Samuel was the youngest of the 7 children of Emmanuel Chedzoy and Sarah Way. He was born on the 30th April 1872 and baptised at Stoke St Gregory on 2nd June 1872. Samuel as he was known as, was a Gardener and traded in Willows, at which he was quite successful. He married Sarah Chappel on 16th June 1910. I have found only one child in the Stoke St Gregory registers Raymond George Chappel baptised on 14th May 1911. I think there might have another child, as I have found a reference to Sarah Jane Chedzoy who died in the Hospital, London on 29th April 1937 aged 19. When Samuel died his estate was passed onto his son Raymond.

RAYMOND GEORGE CHAPPEL CHEDZOY 1911 - 1986

Raymond George was the first child of George Samuel Chedzoy and Sarah Chappel, he was baptised at Stoke St Gregory on 14th May 1911. I'm not sure how many siblings he had. Raymond George married Vera Evelin Maud Chedzoy his cousin, daughter of Sidney Charles Chedzoy, at Taunton Register Office. ( his father George Samuel's brother Albert Chedzoy's Grand daughter). Raymond and Vera had one child Michael, who was born before they married. After the wedding, Vera wanted to sort the house out, and Michael went to stay with Florence at Lane End House for two weeks, he never returned home to live. Raymond and Vera did not have a happy marriage, and often rowed. Raymond like his father traded in Willows, and was also successful in his ventures. When he died aged 74 years on 11th February 1986, his estate was divided between Vera and his son Michael. Vera died 4th January 1990 aged 74 years, leaving Michael nearly everything. Both Raymond and Vera are buried at Stoke St Gregory, see gravestone inscriptions

MICHAEL CHEDZOY

Michael was the only child of Raymond George Chappel Chedzoy and Vera Evelin Maud Chedzoy. He didn't live with his parents, but was brought up by Aunt Florence at Lane End House.
