JAMES ALDRED

JAMES ALDRED 1823 -

James Aldred was the 3rd child of Thomas and Harriet, he was baptised 14th December 1823 at Frensham parish church. He was a Farm Labourer, He married Ann Shrubb daughter of John Shrubb on 6th May 1849 at Frensham church. they were both witnesses at Thomas Aldred and Mary Moss wedding 7 months later. When James' sister Mary tragically died they took her baby William Charles to raise. They lived at Summer Hatch Green, Dockenfield at the time of the 1851 census, they had a lodger George age 22 James's brother and their nephew William Bonner age 10 months. By 1861 James and Ann did not have any of their own children, but were still taking care of William now age 11 and at school.
