JAMES HUGGINS 1840 - 1891

James was the youngest of 9 children of William Huggins and Ann Butler, he was baptised at Milton on 29th March 1840. James is shown on the 1841 census aged 12 months and on the 1851 census age 11. James stayed in Milton and married Esther ?.

They had 9 children all born at Milton. Joseph was baptised 4th October 1863, Sarah was baptised 19th February 1865, George was baptised 19th May 1867, Emma was baptised 5th September 1870, Kate was baptised 29th June 1873, Elizabeth was baptised 27th June 1875, William Robert was baptised 10th June 1877, sadly William died age 2 1/2 and was buried 9th September 1879 at Milton. James Richard was baptised 11th May 1879 and Mary was baptised 12th February 1882. James worked as a Farm Labourer.

The 1881 census show's the family living at Milton, James age 41, a Labourer, Esther his wife, age 46, born at Hanney, son Joseph, age 17, a Labourer, daughter Emma age 10, a Scholar, daughter Kate age 8, a Scholar, daughter Elizabeth age 6, a Scholar, and son James age 2. Sarah age 15 is working for her aunt Amy and husband William Slatter, at the Holly Bush, Oke Street, Abingdon.

James died in 1891.
