JOSEPH CHEDZOY

JOSEPH CHEDZOY 1693 -

Joseph was the first child of Walter Chedzoy and Elizabeth Ivory, he was born about 1693. He had two sisters I think, Eleanor and Elizabeth. Josephs mother died when he was 8 years old in 1701, his father married Martha Musgrove later that same year. The following year he and his sister Eleanor were baptised together on 25th  October 1702, Joseph was aged 9. Sadly Eleanor died in April 1705, six months later his half brother Walter was born, followed 4 years later by his half sister Sarah. Joseph lost both his father Walter and half sister Sarah in April 1710. 

Joseph married Hannah Andrews at Stoke St Gregory church on 22nd January 1724. Their first child Hannah was baptised 20th October 1724 followed by Joseph baptised 28th December 1726, but sadly he died shortly afterwards and was buried on 15th January 1727. Another child Joseph was baptised 2nd December 1729 but he too died, although I found no record of his burial. Third son Joseph was baptised 22nd August 1732. a daughter Betty was baptised 9th March 1734. Betty, calling herself Elizabeth,  married Robert Waggett on 12th April 1773. Josephs wife Hannah died 4 years later, she was buried 16th June 1738. Joseph died  1740, at this time I'm not sure if was father or son.
