FREDERICK H.H. ORCHARD 1848 -

I do not have any information about Frederick's early life at present. He married Lavinia Ann Dey during the March quarter of 1874 at Exeter.

We pick up the story from the 1881 census for Exeter. Frederick H.H. Orchard head, aged 33, Solicitor, born at Exeter. Lavinia, his wife, aged 33, born at Exeter. James their son, aged 6, born at Exeter. Louise P. their daughter, aged 5, born at Exeter. Harry their son, aged 4, born at Exeter. Alice M. their daughter, aged 1 born at Exeter. Emily Partridge, servant, aged 17. Lucy Day, sister-in-law, aged 28, Annuitant, born at Exeter.

By 1891 the family has grown a bit, and they were living at 70 Hills Court, Longbrook Street, Exeter, in the St Sidwells district. Frederick H.H. Orchard, head, aged 43, Solicitor. Lavinia A his wife, aged 43. James W their son aged 16, Articled Solicitors Clerk. Louise P their daughter, aged 15, Scholar. Henry their son aged 14, Scholar. Alice M their daughter, aged 11, Scholar. Samuel T, their son, aged 9, Scholar. Charles R, their son, aged 8, Scholar. Florence E, their daughter, aged 4, Scholar. Albert E F, their son, aged 2 and George F, their son aged 7 months. Adela L Dey, sister-in-law, aged 37, living on own means. Also 2 servants, one a Domestic and the other a Nurse.
