Powderham Parish Registers
The Parish registers were transcribed many years ago, and checked then typed up in 1932. There were 9 volumes, but judging from the information, these records were kept and un-kept in varying consistency. I have not copied all the register, only those names that I have an interest in.
The Memorandum heading the first volume reads as follows:
Memorandum
This book contains the earliest extant of registers of the parish of Powderham. The first page of baptisms appears to be wanting; also those which contained the baptisms between 1597 and 1606, the marriages between 1597 and 1649, and the Burials between 1578 and 1615. No Burials are recorded between 1627 and 1630, which may possibly indicate a page here begun and then lost. The whole of the original binding has also disappeared.
