POWDERHAM

Powderham is described as "a picturesque parish of scattered houses on the western side of the broad estuary of the Exe" in White's Devonshire Directory 1850. For more details on Powderham see the Genuki site http://genuki.cs.ncl.ac.uk/genuki/DEV/Powderham/

Whilst I have never actually been to the village myself, I have passed Powderham Castle gates many times while driving on the A379 from Dawlish, through Starcross, passing Powderham Castle, then Kenton on the way to Exeter. The railway line also runs along the same route.
