RICHARD CHEDZOY

RICHARD CHEDZOY 1807 -

Richard Chedzoy 2nd child of Issacher Chedzoy and Charlotte Baynham was born 1807 and was baptised with his sister and younger brother at Stoke St Gregory church on 21st May 1809 aged 2 years. 

Richard married Mary Ann and they had 7 children. Emma was baptised 4th August 1844. Mary Jane was baptised 7th March 1847. Richard was baptised 10th November 1850. 

The 1851 census shows Richard and his family living in Stoke St Gregory. Richard Chedzoy, head, aged 42, ag. lab, born at SSG. Mary Ann Chedzoy, wife, aged 29, born at N. Petherton. Richard Chedzoy, son, aged 5 months, born at SSG. Emma Chedzoy, daughter, aged 6, born at SSG. Mary Jane Chedzoy, daughter, aged 4, born at SSG.

4 years later Ellen was baptised 30th March 1855, she died aged 2 and half and was buried 11th October 1857. Henry baptised 6th March 1858, but sadly died a week later he was buried 14th March 1858. Albert was baptised 20th March 1859 but sadly he died a few months later and was buried 3rd July 1859. Ann was baptised 6th January 1861. Their son Richard died young age 23, he was buried at Stoke St Gregory 15th February 1874.

Richard himself died aged 74, he was buried at SSG on 16th May 1879.
