SPLATT FAMILY TREE

My thanks to Barbara Ryan who sadly passed away 8th December 2003, I will always remember her she gave me my first lead on this name.

JOHN SPLATT (info taken from IGI and Whitstone Parish registers)

At present I'm not sure where John was born or who his parents were. John married Anne, they lived at Whitestone and raised 8 children. John was baptised 27th October 1756, but sadly died young and was buried 9th May 1760. William baptised 8th December 1757, died 1829. Simon baptised 17th January 1760, Mary baptised 5th November 1761, John baptised 27th December 1763, Richard baptised 16th January 1766, Robert baptised 24th October 1769, and George baptised 13th December 1774, but sadly died aged 4 months and was buried 15th March 1775.

SIMON SPLATT 1760 - 1823 (info taken from IGI and Whitstone Parish registers)

Simon was the third child of John Splatt and Anne, he was baptised on 17th January 1760 at Whitestone. Simon married Hannah Trend on 15th October 1786 at Whitestone, witnessed by George Littlejohn & John Trend. They had 5 children, Ann baptised 6th February 1787, Richard baptised 27th April 1788, Simon baptised 28th February 1793, John baptised 17th April 1796 and Sarah baptised 6th January 1799.

Simon died aged 63, and was buried 3rd April 1823.

ANN SPLATT 1787 -

Ann was the eldest child of Simon Splatt and Hannah Trend, she was baptised on 6th February 1787 at Whitestone. Ann married George Peaster (Pester) on 11th June 1809 at Whitestone, witnessed by Simon Splatt & Martha Pester. They remained in Whitestone and their first child Sarah was baptised on 31st December 1809, Mary was born 1812 at Rew, George was baptised on 23rd January 1814, he died during his childhood. Simon was baptised 3rd December 1815 and he also died during his childhood. Richard was baptised 1st February 1818, Harriett was baptised on 17th December 1820, George was baptised on 30th March 1823, Martha was baptised 21st August 1825, Simon was baptised on25th February 1827, John was baptised on 2nd May 1829, and Ann was baptised 27th February 1830.

George died before 1851. The 1851 census shows the family living at Olivers Tenements, Whitestone. Ann a widow age 64, daughter Mary age 39, unmarried, a Dressmaker, daughter Harriet age 30, unmarried, a Servant, son George age 28, unmarried, a Smith, son Simon age 24, unmarried, a Carpenter, son John age 21, unmarried, a Cordwinder, and grandson Daniel Crews (Cruse) age 5, a scholar, born at Kenton.
