TREND FAMILIES

of Tedburn St Mary and Crediton

I do not know at present if any of these families link in with mine at Whitestone. The information has been compiled using the IGI and parish register transcripts.

GRACE TREND ... - 1654

Grace Trend was buried at Tedburn St Mary 13th April 1654. This is the only information I have for her.

JOHN TREND .... - 1675

John Trend married Charitie Hoard at Tedburn St Mary 14th August 1654. Two children were baptised at Tedburn St Mary. Grace on 12th June 1655 and John on 15th March 1656/7, he was born 3rd March. Sadly  Grace died aged 14 and was buried 6th June 1669.John Trend the elder died and was buried 22nd July 1675. his widow Charity died and was buried 8th February 1680/1.

OLIVER TREND

Oliver married Bridget Borgin at Tedburn St Mary 2nd December 1656. Their first child Bridget was born 6th August 1657 and baptised 20th August 1657, she married Peter Strong on 17th September 1700.  John baptised 4th December 1659 but sadly he died young. So they named their next child John after him, he was baptised 31st March 1661. Alexander was baptised 17th November 1663. Henry was baptised 1st May 1667. Katherine was baptised 15th July 1669, and then Roger was baptised 7th November 1671.

JOHN TREND 1661 -

John was the third child of Oliver Trend and Bridget Borgin, he was baptised 31st March 1661. John married Willmote Hart at Tedburn St Mary on 5th January 1691. I have found only one child in the registers Oliver baptised 15th November 1699.

ALEXANDER TREND 1663 -

Alexander was the fourth child of Oliver Trend and Bridget Borgin, he was baptised at Tedburn St Mary 17th November 1663. Alexander married Elizabeth probably at Crediton, where the couple lived and raised their children. Although this is guess work on my part, Tedburn St Mary is only 4 miles from Crediton. So far I have found 3 children all baptised at Crediton. Sarah baptised 17th July 1695, sadly she died aged 6 months and was buried at Tedburn St Mary 16th January 1695/6. Elizabeth baptised 1st May 1698. and William baptised 13th November 1700.

ROGER TREND 1671 -

Roger was the youngest child of Oliver Trend and Bridget Borgin, he was baptised at Tedburn St Mary on 7th November 1671. I'm not sure where Roger got married, but he married Mary and they had one child John who was privately baptised 24th May 1701 and received into the church 10th June 1701.

JOHN TREND

John married Sarah. Only one child Elizabeth was baptised at Tedburn St Mary on 6th November 1681, she died aged 9 months and was buried 27th August 1702.

JOHN & ANN TREND of Crediton

At present the only information on this couple is from baptisms of their children. Ann baptised 8th March 1724. John baptised 28th February 1726. Ann baptised 12th December 1728. Joseph baptised 15th July 1730. Sarah baptised 14th September 1733. Thomas baptised February 1735.
