GEORGE WALLACE 1845 -

George was born about 1845, at Yattendon, Berkshire. He married Emma Hannington from Ashampstead, Berkshire.

The 1881 census shows the family living at Sulhamstead Banister, Berkshire. George aged 36 working as an Agricultural Labourer, his wife Emma aged 38, son John aged 14 working as an Agricultural Labourer, born at Stanford Dingley. Son William aged 10 a scholar, born at Bradfield. Daughter Luisa aged 8 a scholar, born at Bradfield. Daughter Alice aged 6 a scholar, born at Bradfield. Twins George and Emily aged 3, born at Englefield. Son Harry aged 11 months, born at Englefield.

GEORGE WALLACE 1877 - 1940

George was one of twins born at Englefield on 18th December 1877 at 10.30 am, one of seven children of George Wallace and Emma Hannington. George moved to Reading, and was living at 110 Great Knollys Street where he met Florence Amy Jewell. They married at Reading Register Office on 21st May 1904, witnessed by E.M. Jewell and C. Somerville.

George and Florence stayed in Reading and had six children. Ernest George was born 11th November 1904 at 22 Battle Street. Alfred John was born 11th November 1905 at 33 Elm Park Road. Elizabeth known as Bess, no reference to her birth as been found, she married Harold Parks. Arthur W. was born 1911. Stanley Victor was born 11th July 1915 and Desmond Colin ( known as Den.) was born 19th May 1925 at 33 Elm Park Road, he married Violet Joyce Freeman.

George died from Broncho pneumonia and Psoal Abscess & facial Fistula, he had spent 6-8 months in Balgrave Hospital, Reading, leading up to his death.

ERNEST GEORGE WALLACE 1904 - 1987

Ernest George was the first child of George Wallace and Florence Amy Jewell. He was born 11th November 1904 at 22 Battle Street, Reading. After they moved to 33 Elm Park Road.  Ernest George married Phoebe Witcomb at Reading Register Office on 24th February 1930, witnessed by her brother Frederick G. Witcomb and G. Hawkins. They had 8 children. Jean born 29th June 1930. Joan was born 30th May 1931. Donald George was born 6th January 1934. Margaret Ann was born 3rd February 1935, she married Ronald Arthur Charles Eales. Keith John was born 6th January 1939. Shelia Eileen was born 19th April 1940, Maurice Victor was born 4th March 1942. Alan Roger was born 3rd October 1944.

Ernest George died 4th May 1987 at Battle Hospital, Oxford Road, Reading. His daughter Jean registered the death.

JOAN WALLACE

Joan was the 2nd child of Ernest George Wallace and Phoebe Witcomb, she was born 30th May 1931 at 7 Wiston Terrace, Reading. She married Denis Raymond Hamilton at St Peters Church, Earley, Nr. Reading.
