WILLIAM BONNER (2)

WILLIAM BONNER 1816 -

William was the first legitimate child of Richard Bonner and Sarah West, he was baptised on Good Friday 12th April 1816 at Frensham. William grew up at Pierepont, where his father worked as an Agricultural Labourer. He married Mary Warner at Frensham on 28th March 1842. William and Mary had at least 7 children (according to the 1871 census) Mary died aged 52 and was buried at Frensham on 6th November 1869.

The 1871 census shows the family living at Pierepont Farm, William widower age 54, Game Keeper, son Richard age 19, Game Keeper, daughter Ellen age 17, daughter Annie age 15, daughter Emily age 13, Scholar, son Frederick age 9, Agricultural Labourer, daughter Eliza age 8, Scholar, daughter Kate age 6.

The 1881 census shows William was still living at Pierrepont Farm and working as a Gamekeeper, now aged 63. Also his daughter Emily aged 22, Housekeeper and his son Fred aged 21 an Under Gamekeeper.
