WILLIAM HENRY SCANES

WILLIAM HENRY SCANES 1839 -

William Henry was the 2nd child of William Scanes and Eliza Dey, he was born at Ide in Devon and baptised 8th September 1839. The family moved to St Sidwells, Exeter soon after, although the family continued to use Ide church for Christenings.

In 1855 the family emigrated to Australia, (see William Scanes).

William Henry married Catherine Blake Smith in 1862 at Cooma, NSW. They had 9 children. Mary born in 1864, Eliza Agnes born in 1865, Catherine Winifred born in 1867, William Henry born in 1870, Margaret born in 1871. The family moved to Bombala, NSW where Ada Alice was born in 1874, Ernest Albert born in 1876, Francis Henry born in 1881 and Anna L D born in 1884.
