WILLIAMS FAMILY TREE

I do not have much information on this side of the family yet.

MOSES WILLIAMS 1827/8

Moses was born at Donhead St Mary in Wiltshire about 1827/8, he married Ellen Goddard, daughter of John Goddard about 1857.  They lived at Water Lane, Donhead St Mary with Ellen's parents for a few years after getting married. Their first child Moses John was born about 1858, Anna Matilda was born a year later, then Emma Jane was born 1861.

The 1861 census records this information:  John Goddard, head, married, aged 51, Agricultural Labourer, born at Donhead St Mary, as were all the family. Wife Hannah, aged 60, Son Thomas, aged 22, Shepherd. daughter Emma aged 17. Son in Law Moses Williams, married aged 33, Agricultural Labourer. Daughter, Ellen, married aged 25, grandson, Moses John, aged 3. Granddaughter Anna Matilda aged 2. Granddaughter Emma Jane aged 2 months.

In 1863 Martha was born, Emily E. followed in about 1865/6, Then Hephzibah Sarah was born 18th September 1868. Walter E. was born in 1870.

By the time of the 1871 census the Williams' family were living at Jenkins Corner. Young Moses age 13 was working like his father as an Agricultural labourer, the rest of the children were scholars. 2 year old Hephzibah Sarah, was recorded as Sarah.

Rose was born about 1872, Bessie came 3 years later in about 1875, and William J. was born about 1876. By 1881 Young Moses has moved out, so have Anna, Emma and Martha. The family are still at Jenkins Corner. H. Sarah and all her younger siblings are scholars.

By 1891 only the 2 youngest children are at home. Moses and Ellen are still living at Jenkins Corner, William J is working like his father as a Farm Labourer. But there is an addition to the family, Granddaughter, Alice M Williams, aged 6, scholar, born at Southampton, Hampshire.

I couldn't find either Moses or Ellen on the 1901 census.
