WORTHY FAMILY TREE

JACOB WORTHY 1795 -

Jacob was born about 1795 at Curry Rival, Somerset. He married Mary Potter at Sidmouth in 1821. They a son called George born at Taunton in 1836.

GEORGE WORTHY 1836 -

George Worthy son of Jacob Worthy and Mary Potter, he was born at Taunton in 1836. At some point he moved to Newport, South Wales where he married Emlin Way in 1864, the daughter of Charles Way. They moved to Burnham, Somerset where their first child Walter Strawbridge was born 16th July 1865, followed by William Churchill born at Chipenham in 1866, he died in 1891 at Birkenhead. James Charles was born in Somerset in 1873, he died young. The family moved to Birkenhead where Henrietta Jessie was born 1875, she died aged 21 at Birkenhead in 1896. Frederick was born 1877, he never married and died 1913. Arthur was born in 1879, he never married and died in 1915. Lewis William and Harry Walter were twins born in 1884. George Wilfred the youngest was born 1885, but sadly died in infancy.

LEWIS WILLIAM WORTHY 1884 - Lewis William was born in 1884, twin brother to Harry Walter, he married Emily Shaw. They had two children Ernest Austin born at Wallasey, who married but had no children. Alfred born July 1910, he married Joan in 152 and had a daughter Jennifer who has two children.

HARRY WALTER WORTHY 1884 - Harry Walter was born in 1884, twin brother to Lewis William, he married Mary, but they did not have children.

WALTER STRAWBRIDGE WORTHY 1865 -

Walter Strawbridge was the eldest son of George Worthy and Emlin Way, he was born on 16th July 1865 at Burnham in Somerset. He married Margaret Ann Downey on 8th August 1898 at Liverpool. They had 6 children. Walter Henry was born in 1899 at Runcorn, he married Mary, but had no children. Hilda Margaret was born 22nd June 1901 also at Runcorn. Charles Henry was born in 1903 and died in an accident in 1921. George Wilfred was born at Birkenhead in 1909, he married Gladys and had 2 children, Michael and Patricia Ann who sadly died age 18 months. Elizabeth was born in 1911, she married Bill Horton a widower, they did not have any children. Edna was born 1915, she married Bill Taylor and they had a son Stephen.

HILDA MARGARET WORTHY 1901 -

Hilda Margaret was the 2nd child of Walter Strawbridge Worthy and Margaret Ann Downey, she was born at Runcorn on 22nd June 1901. She married Henry Harris at Wallasey on 22nd April 1933. They had 2 children Margaret who married and had a son. Edna Georgina born in 1935.

EDNA GEORGINA WORTHY 1935 -

Edna Georgina was born in 1935, and she married Leslie Clifford Neville at Market Drayton in Shropshire. They have 5 children, including twins, and 8 grand children. Edna has worked hard on researching her family tree, and I am pleased to include it on my web site.
